Rumours are rife that police are honing in on a former worker at the Ocean Club resort where the McCanns were residing.

'They are not suggesting he stole Maddie, but he may know people who could have been involved after a burglary went wrong.

The U.K. Home Office just granted an additional $104,000 to extend the investigation six more months from April until September. Then detectives know they have done everything in their power to solve the case'.

It has been almost 10 years since three-year-old Madeleine disappeared from the family's holiday apartment in Praia De Luz, Portugal, in May 2007. The McCanns had lived in Rothley, Leicestershire during the incident.

There is one person who was near the area where Madeleine went missing who police want to speak to, the Sunday Express reported.

The newspaper claimed there has been an global search to find the person.

Also, there is no way to know how many could recover as algae have been overgrowing on numerous corals already. These coral rely on microscopic algae embedded in their tissue to produce food via photosynthesis.

The Metropolitan Police have refused to comment on whether the person of interest was a suspect or a potential witness.

McCann disappeared nearly 10 years ago from a holiday apartment in Portugal and the British police investigation had been due to wind up in the next few weeks. The search for baby McCann has been ongoing since May 3, 2007, and has since produced no significant leads as to her whereabouts.

Madeleine's parents, who also have twins Amelie and Sean, said that they will "never give up hope" of finding their daughter.

A sum of £85,000 ($103,430) will fund the work of the enquiry, named Operation Grange, which will now be able to investigate the case until September 2017.

Police say they have identified a man who was in Portugal when Maddie disappeared from the villa she was holidaying at with her parents and want to question him.
