Having been caught up in a massive power abuse scandal, Park lost her presidential protection from prosecution when the Constitutional Court upheld her impeachment on Friday.

"We will decide Wednesday when to summon former president Park and inform her", the spokesman of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors Office told AFP.

Prosecutors have identified Park as an accomplice to Choi for multiple charges including bribery.

Independent Counsel Park Young-soo concluded at the end of his investigation that Samsung's de facto leader Lee Jae-yong paid or promised some 43 billion won (US$37.4 million) to Choi, and in effect to Park, in exchange for business favors.

His remarks comes after Pyongyang's Council for National Reconciliation said in a statement on Saturday that Park's impeachment is just a starting point and South Korean people should fight to completely remove reactionary forces. She refused both requests. Park's ouster has triggered an early presidential election, which many expect to take place May 9. The election is expected to take place May 9.

The team plans to look into whether other local conglomerates, including SK, Lotte and CJ, also bribed Park. After leaving the Blue House on Sunday, Park expressed defiance about the corruption allegations.
