Shakespeare ready to write new chapter at Leicester

Craig Shakespeare given Leicester City manager's job for rest of season Five endings to Leicester's tragic season inspired by Shakespeare plays

The Manchester City man is on loan at the La Liga side, but was punished for a moment of ill-discipline against Leicester in the second leg of their last-16 tie in the Champions League.

A 2-0 win at home to Sevilla secured the Foxes' place in the quarter-finals of the Champions League, with the two-legged tie won 3-2 on aggregate.

Joaquin Correa forced a good save from Schmeichel within five minutes of his introduction but Sevilla's task then became harder as Nasri was sent off after picking up a second yellow card following a clash with Jamie Vardy.

The goal gave Leicester an away goals advantage, and Sevilla were swiftly scared into action.

After Leicester's incredibly poor run in the Premier League this season, a victory against one of Spain's best sides appeared impossible just weeks ago.

Shakespeare was on Sunday rewarded for two wins in his two games as a caretaker with the Foxes job until the end of the season.

The Foxes have looked a shell of themselves from the year before since Matchday 1, forcing them into the relegation spots for most of the season before they eventually fired title-winning manager Claudio Ranieri.

"It is not that bad to lose 2-1".

Sevilla began the second half with more objective and came within a coat of paint of equalizing in the 54th minute when Sergio Escudero's dipping effort from 30 meters beat Schmeichel but struck the underside of the crossbar. At the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan he crucially saved a first-half penalty, and yet again he was on hand to reaffirm his hero status, diving low to his left to deny Steven N'Zonzi.

As part of Walkers wider Uefa Champions League sponsorship the brand are encouraging consumers to share a selfie with the regular "Snap and Share" packaging to be in with a chance to win other Champions League prizes. The heat had a bit to do with it as well in Sevilla, they are used to play in it week in week out. Leicester showed plenty of energy and bite, leaving Sevilla whimpering.

Either way, it's a brilliant night right now, and one Leicester fans will remember for ages - one of the best nights in the history of the club, sans a few occasions last spring.

Former Bayern and Wolfsburg striker Mario Mandzukic tested Porto goalkeeper Iker Casillas, who was making his Champions League record 175th appearance, with a header in the first half.
