Trump, who has long opposed military intervention in Syria, ordered the military attack on a Syrian airbase in Homs province on Friday.

Following the horrific sarin gas attack against Syria's citizens Tuesday, which killed over 100 and injured at least 300, the United States conducted a successful airstrike against Shayrat air base late Thursday evening.

CNN anchor Brooke Baldwin badly wanted Syrian guest Kassem Eid to trash Donald Trump.

The irony of Trump's sudden flare-up of compassion is not lost on thehuman rights advocateswho have been pushing back against Trump's attempt to shut out Syrians.

On Friday, following the airstrike, Trump took to Twitter to praise her father, President Donald Trump, for the airstrike, writing, "The times we are living in call for hard decisions - Proud of my father for refusing to accept these horrendous crimes against humanity".

CNN's Jake Tapper immediately pointed out to the first daughter about the hypocrisy in her statement, citing the president's executive order, which denies entry to Syrian refugees into the United States.

There's no change on the refugee issue, despite the USA attack on Syria. "Cruise missiles alone are not a solution", said Rep. Don Beyer, Virginia Democrat.

"Smart", or not, Trump is finding that being president is a lot different from running for president. "Many refugee children have been left in life or death situations following the President's executive order, which suspends and severely curtails the USA resettlement program". He told President Obama you cannot do this without the authorization of Congress. "There is no upside and tremendous downside", read one.

The Syrian Civil War started in 2011.

If Trump's strike on Syria was meant to curtail Assad's ability to launch more attacks on civilians, it does not seem to have worked. Syrian warplanes have already resumed using the base to launch air strikes on rebel-held areas.

To make her point, she played a clip in which Hillary Clinton says that the President should be more accepting of refugees. "These people didn't flee because they wanted a change in scenery", says Sime.
