"The manner in which they were killed was consistent with the M.O. of MS-13".

Suffolk police did not immediately comment on the video.

Sini said the exact date and time of the killings won't be released publicly, but that the four homicides occurred at the same time "within the past few days" at the park.

Sources said MS-13 members are under intense pressure under the gang's violent anti-social code to "put in work" - that is, to kill those perceived as rivals, such as members of other gangs or people believed to have disrespected the gang.

Police responded to Clayton Avenue Community Park at approximately 8 p.m. where the bodies of four males were located.

He did not definitively say the killings were the work of the MS-13 gang but said the tactics — using sharp instruments and extreme violence — were consistent with the gang, which has been gaining a foothold on Long Island for years.

"This is a long-term war".

Suffolk County Police Commissioner Timothy Sini (CEE'-nee) confirmed to The Associated Press that police had begun a missing-person's investigation for Jorge Tigre on Tuesday. The commissioner said that the police department is working with federal agents to solve the quadruple murder.

Relatives of Jorge Tigre, 18, said police told them he is among the dead. NBC New York reports half his face was missing when his body was found. Banegas, Villalobos's cousin, was reportedly suffocated with a plastic bag. "And make no mistake about it, it's a war".

The body of Oscar Acosta, 19, was also discovered that month, and the body of Miguel Garcia Morán, 15, not long after that, according to police. She said a friend who escaped told them about the attackers. Refusal to "put in work", according to the sources, can result in the reluctant gang member being targeted for death for defying the gang code.

The bodies were found just a few miles from where police say MS-13 gang members killed numerous people, including Brentwood High School students Nisa Mickens and Kayla Cuevas previous year.

Authorities are yet to reveal whether the bodies discovered on Wednesday are linked to the previous youths' deaths.

Known MS-13 member, Jose Pena-Hernandez, 18, was found dead in October, according to investigators.

It is not clear when or how the bodies were dumped in a wooded area. Crime Stoppers is offering a fast cash reward of $25,000 for information that leads to an arrest.
