The child's aunt, Ra'Neicha Broadnax, said it appears Peterkin sent the videos and images because the child's father found a new girlfriend.

Peterkin was then arrested and charged with child endangerment, according to KDAF.

A Texas mother is accused of torturing her baby - and sending photos and video of the abuse to the child's father.

Broadnax, who is the sister of the child's father, said that she posted the video after calling the Humble Police Department to report it, but was told that she had called the wrong department. They show an infant being slapped, having a lighter held to his fingers, and with a plastic bag stuffed in his little mouth.

"If you get within 200 feet of the child while this order is pending, she's going to have to bring that child to 701 San Jacinto to visit you because you're going to be in jail", District Judge George Powell told Peterkin, referring to the suspect's mother. She has no criminal record in Harris County, court records state. She is due in court in May.

Broadnax said told that she posted the videos to Facebook because police in Harris County, Texas, had not responded quickly enough to her calls.

Other videos showed Peterkin spitting on the baby and bending his hands back, according to the Chronicle.

Court documents said Peterkin failed to take the child to a doctor or hospital.

"The video I sent to the police, she had a plastic bag; she was stuffing it down his throat", Broadnax told Valley Central.

After being released on bail Monday, Peterkin had to find a new ride home.

"When she originally called us, she did not have an address", Bradshaw explained.

After the posts had gone viral, she said Humble police and Child Protective Services contacted her about her nephew's alleged abuse.

"She sent the pictures to her ex-boyfriend to disturb him", prosecutors said.

Broadnax, who lives in Virginia, is Jaiden's aunt, and discovered the videos - 64 in all - on her brother's phone.

Family reportedly did not know about the videos until Thursday, Broadnax said.

The baby is now in the care of relatives and is okay, according to Broadnax.
