The images shared by Ars Technica also show overlapping apps which could suggest a layout similar to the present one in Android. While Google is aware of the issue, it won't be fixed until the release of Android O - the upcoming version of Google's mobile operating system.

Of course, even if there is no button dedicated to multitasking, it does not indicate that this option is not present in Google Fuchsia, since it can be activated by pressing one card and combining it with another. Users can also access "Story" cards, which are recently-used apps.

It's still unclear when Fuchsia will be ready for prime time, or whether Google is planning to launch it as a future Android replacement. Apparently, Google has created a new internal microkernel that they are calling Magenta and it will make Google Fuchsia the nerve center of "modern phones with fast processors and non-trivial amounts of RAM".

Inside Fuchsia Armadillo is a user interface that's based on Material Design.

Still, we wanted to take a first-hand look and see what this mystery OS is all about.

To get the most recent build of Fuchsia app compiled by Bradshaw, you need to got to HotFixit ( or go to the following url to download the APK. Armadillo is also written in Google's Flutter, being the firm's new, cross-platform mobile framework.

At the moment, Fuchsia exists as a pile of code sitting on GitHub and as The Verge points out, Google is now not commenting on it, nor is it giving away its intended goal.

We had heard rumours about Fuchsia, which is Google's new operating system.

It turns out Fuchsia has come a long way from the command line form it existed in when it was first uncovered last August.

Will it complement Android or Google Chrome? The interface looks like a card-based system and contains Google Now-like suggestions.

Armadillo is supposed to act as the default system UI for Fuchsia.

In the video above, you can see a preview of the Fuchsia OS.

It's not yet completely clear what Google intends to use Fuchsia for. Originally added with Android Marshmallow, this permission was supposed to be manually agreed to by the phone's user.
