He further asked United States media "not to pin the blame on other people for their failure in organizing the photo shoot and the failure to provide access to their media".

Lavrov's visit came on the heels of Trump's dismissal of James Comey from his role as Federal Bureau of Investigation director. The abrupt firing is consequential in many respects, but one issue was bound to dominate the public discussion: the FBI's unfinished investigation into the Trump 2016 presidential campaign's possible ties with Russian Federation. Sessions recused himself from any investigations involving the Trump administration and Russian Federation after acknowledging he failed to tell senators during his confirmation hearing that he previously met with he diplomat.

SIEGEL: I mean so he's both - in Russian terms, he says he's a journalist working for a news agency.

Trump's meeting with Lavrov was listed on his schedule as "Closed Press", which would mean the media would not be allowed to document its proceedings.

The Lavrov meeting came just hours after Trump fired his Federal Bureau of Investigation director James Comey, the man responsible for investigating allegations of collusion between the Republican leader's team and Russian Federation.

The above photo shows President Donald Trump as Mr. Trump met with Russian government officials. According to reports, White House officials thought that only photos of Trump and Lavrov together would be released, leaving it forever a secret that Kislyak was there, too.

Asked whether they believed the intelligence community's January assessment that Russian Federation was responsible for hacking and leaking information to influence the elections was accurate, all six spy and law enforcement bosses appearing before the panel said "yes".

Can't you see the part of the SNL skit where the Russians and Trump get into a verbal one-up-manship contest over who lies bigger and better than the other? He was there along with a white house official photographer and was only there to take pictures at the top of the meeting, not during the meeting.

The press was barred, but a Russian photographer was allowed inside the Oval Office for a meeting between President Donald Trump and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, raising concerns by some security experts. However, a camera-wielding member of the Russian delegation "described... as Lavrov's official photographer" was granted access to the Oval Office.

"No, it was not", David S. Cohen, the former deputy director of the Central Intelligence Agency, replied. It was Flynn's susceptibility to blackmail that led then-Acting Attorney General Sally Yates to warn the White House in January about the security risk Flynn posed.

Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said in March that the sanctions would remain in place until Russian Federation returned Crimea to Ukraine. The spokesman said "contacts of Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov were maintained further to a recent telephone conversation of the two presidents".

Today, the White House claims it was "misled" about the photographer's presence.
