Melissa McCarthy adds spice (and Spicer) as host of 'SNL'

Elaine Woods | 15 May, 2017, 17:20

A distraught Spicer was not sure if he could do the job anymore, afraid of being replaced by Sanders.

To promote her latest appearance as the beleaguered White House Press Secretary, McCarthy spent Friday afternoon touring New York City in her Spicer getup, traveling with a podium down the streets of NYC.

The Post initially described the scenario as Spicer standing "in the bushes" but later issued a clarification stating he was "among the bushes".

However, it was quickly noticed that Spicer was actually standing outside the building, staring in through the press room window while hiding in the bushes.

Another reporter chimes in, "I'd also like to ask that question". But the fact that the press secretary made some comical headlines upon his return left no doubt about it - which only heightened hype for Saturday's show.

The press took the opportunity to beg Sanders to take over briefing duties full time. She was asked during the press briefing where Spicer was. Though we all know where he really is. "Because he told us so, period".

"He wouldn't do that", McCarthy's Spicer said. Another questioned Spicer's trust in Trump. He went through the inner dolls - a dog symbolizing Comey, a villain symbolizing Hillary Clinton, Slimer symbolizing Steve Bannon, and an Easter Bunny symbolizing Jess Sessions.

"Have you every told me to lie", he asks, to which Trump responds, "Only since you started working here". Spicer confronts Trump about his potential firing, but the two end up literally making out.

However, once the evidence begins to pile up, it is time to drive from the White House to Trump Tower to get some answers, and maybe do a little self-discovery along the way. Spicer shouted. "That's why I put them out". "And then he hired lawyers to agree with him".

As a disenchanted Spicer laments his situation, Trump leaned in for a kiss which Spicer rejected at first, asking if it was "like The Godfather, when you kiss me and no one ever sees me again?"

A sample of the comments flowing into social media about the SNL kiss heard around the world between the sketch comedy's version of Mr. Trump and Spicer can be read below. (Baldwin is writing a satirical book with Kurt Anderson about Trump due out November, so don't bet on it). Notably, a pre-election episode showed the then-presidential candidate kissing an Federal Bureau of Investigation agent, a member of the Ku Klux Klan and Putin.

"Sean, come on", Trump replied.
