The U.S. intelligence community concluded that Russian Federation interfered in last year's presidential election specifically to help Trump.

The classified National Security Agency report, which was published online on Monday by The Intercept, said Russian military intelligence agency GRU attacked the software company and sent spear-phishing emails to local election officials around October and November.

The Intercept wrote that the report "is the most detailed United States government account of Russian interference in the election that has yet come to light".

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on June 6 Moscow "regrets" the comments and called on the United States to "clarify its position".

Dzhabarov said the report shows that "the world has gone insane - whatever happens, there is a Russian trace there, the trace of Russian hackers".

The Intercept's reporting revealed new details behind the conclusion of US intelligence agencies that Russian intelligence services were seeking to infiltrate state voter registration systems, discredit Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton and help then Republican candidate Donald Trump win the election. While Putin denied any direct involvement from state agencies, his words reverse previous blanket denials that Russian Federation was at all involved in the hacking of the Democratic National Committee or other election meddling.

Separately, Vladimir Dzhabarov, deputy chairman of the foreign affairs committee at the upper chamber of parliament, on Wednesday dismissed the accusations as "an attempt to push the US against Russian Federation as key players in the Middle East".
