Google's search engine aims to become employment engine

Google's search engine aims to become employment engine Google launches its AI-powered jobs search engine

Google announced their new Google for Jobs feature at their Google I/O Developer Conference and now the company has launched their new Google for Jobs.

And since you're not generally interested in all job positions that surface in the search results, you can filter the results based on the criterion you wanna choose. Earlier, a Google search for specific jobs would yield independent sites offering various disorganized and duplicate results. When a user types for "jobs near me", "teaching jobs", etc or other phrases which have a job-related query, then the search engine will show in-depth results. People using Google to search for new work opportunities will be able to enter the position and location they are looking for and be presented with a list of results. Throw in employer reviews and ratings, and you've got a pretty robust search tool. The Alphabet Inc. unit is introducing a new job search feature, a move that could keep visitors on its own website for longer, rather than sending them to other recruiting sites.

In theory, that should help make Google a one-stop shop that allows a user to conduct broad searches from a single query.

Search for jobs on your computer or your phone. The information will come from the websites of job search specialists like Glassdoor and LinkedIn, and directly from the career sections of many other company websites. It now has no plans to let employers posts jobs directly to its jobs search engine for example (though that would surely be lucrative). Zakrasek said his team has no plans to include paid listings in the new job listing service.

Google automatically pulls listings from popular sites like Monster, CareerBuilder, and LinkedIn. "We want the players in the ecosystem to be more successful".

"Today, we're taking the next step in the Google for Jobs initiative by putting the convenience and power of Search into the hands of job seekers", says Google.

The latest use of machine learning has seen the search giant create a jobs search page - dubbed Google for Jobs.

Nick Zakrasek, the Google staffer who led the development of the project, told TechCrunch that vacancies published to multiple sites are filtered to improve the user experience. For employers, Google is offering detailed tutorials and guidelines to ensure that their job postings are properly documented and easy to discover.
