March 2009 Time cover of Trump is phony

Fake Trump 'Time' Magazine Covers Hang in His Golf Clubs President Trump has fake Time magazine covers of himself hanging at his golf courses

In Sept. 2016, he reported that Trump had purchased an enormous portrait of himself ― a very generous portrait, no less ― with $20,000 in charity funds from the Donald J. Trump foundation.

Time Magazine has asked Trump businesses to remove a phony magazine cover featuring Donald Trump that at least four Trump-branded golf clubs have hanging up on their walls.

The Trump Organization did not respond to questions this week about who made the cover and why it was displayed at Trump clubs. In fact, at that point he had been on the cover 11 times, which was 44 fewer than record-holder Richard Nixon.

But Time never published an issue on March 1, 2009, and a closer look at the magazine's famous red border reveals the cover, which hangs in golf clubs as far flung as Scotland, is a fake. "Its red border is skinnier than that of a genuine Time cover, and, unlike the real thing, there is no thin white border next to the red", wrote WaPo reporter David Fahrenthold.

Boris Johnson calling for end to blockade of Qatar
After meeting Qatari foreign minister Mohammed al Thani, Mr Johnson urged Qatar "to take seriously their neighbours' concerns". Transporting the cows could take as many as 60 Qatar Airways flights from the USA and Australia, where he bought the cows.

The Trump-related cover lines read nearly like advertisements for his reality-show empire: "Donald Trump: The "Apprentice" is a television smash!" they say. In reality, he's only been on the cover once as a non-politician ― unless, of course, you count the fake one that's apparently spread throughout some of his properties. Since becoming president, Trump has visited the club on multiple occasions, including this past weekend.

As some pointed out on Twitter, had Trump spent more time looking at the accompanying headlines on the cover, rather than just the fake tributes, it might actually have seen him embrace a different stance on climate change.

Trump appears to covet the real estate - falsely boasting during his post-inauguration trip to Central Intelligence Agency headquarters that "I think we have the all-time record in the history of Time Magazine".

Even the barcode is a giveaway on the fake.
