Asus ZenFone 4 Max with Dual Rear Cameras, 5000mAh battery Announced

Asus has quietly launched its first smartphone in the ZenFone 4 series, the ZenFone 4 Max.

The Zenfone 4 Max nearly retains the company's design approach with a few changes on the front. The smartphone will come in two variants, one featuring a quad-core Snapdragon 425 processor, while other featuring Snapdragon 435 one. RAM options vary from 2-4 gigs with 16, 32, and 64GB of internal storage respectively. Surprisingly, it features a non-hybrid dual SIM slot and a microSD card at the same time.

The ZenFone 3 Zoom, which is successor to 2015's ZenFone Zoom, comes with a dual camera system on the rear (12MP+12MP) consisting of one 25mm wide-angle lens and another 59mm lens with 2.3X optical zoom. Among these two cameras, the main camera sports a 13-megapixel sensor with an f/2.0 aperture, 80-degree wide-angle lens, while the secondary camera comes with a 13-megapixel sensor with 120-degree wide-angle lens and EIS. The phone also has 8 megapixels front camera that can capture 140° selfie panoramas. For audio output, the phone houses 5-magnet speakers with NXP Smart Amp Amplifier. It also has fingerprint scanner located on physical home button below the display. Connectivity features include 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, and Global Positioning System. The company claims the battery is rated to deliver up to 40 hours of talk time on 3G, up to 46 days of standby time on 4G LTE, and up to 22 hours of video playback time.
