The lawsuit, Jane Doe v. Trump, asks the court to prevent the Trump administration from enforcing the ban, saying a reinstatement of the ban against transgender people violates the US constitutional guarantees of equal protection of the law and due process.
"After consultation with my generals and military experts, please be advised that the United States government will not accept or allow transgender individuals to serve in any capacity in the USA military", Trump tweeted.
The case, known asDoe v. Trump, seeks to stop the Trump administration from implementing the proposed policy change, which would thousands of transgender troops estimated to be actively serving in the USA military. The gathering recorded the claim alongside the National Center for Lesbian Rights.
