Estill Police Officer Quincy Smith was shot four times January 1, 2016, while responding to a call.

Orr was sentenced to the maximum amount of time with 30 years for the attempted murder offense and 5 years for the weapons violation.

Officer Quincy Smith was called to investigate a suspicious man trying to steal groceries from a local convenience store. He came across a man, later identified as Malcolm Antwan Orr, who matched the suspect's description.

"Bullets broke two bones in Smith's arm, severed a vein in his neck, and passed through his upper torso", CBS reports.

A court heard he had bought the special glasses camera himself.

Almost two years later, Smith testified against Orr in court, according to the 14th Circuit Solicitor's Office.

Smith then threatened to use his stun gun on Orr if he did not comply with his order to stop.

Horrifying footage has been released showing the moment a police who had been shot at several times asking a dispatcher to "tell my family I love them" in what he believed would be his final words.

Officer Smith has since recovered from his injuries. He fires off at least eight rounds, hitting Smith at least three times. "Take your hands out your pocket, take your hands out your pocket".

A SC man has been sentenced to 35 years in prison after a police officer's eyeglass camera recorded the man shooting him.

Brave Smith manages to make his way back to his police auto, and the footage captures his agonising wait for paramedics and fellow officers to reach him. "Oh God, Jesus. You know who shot you, Quincy?"

Dispatch informs all available units to respond to the area, as Smith tells them he's been hit in the neck.

But Smith said he forgives Orr - and even prays for him and his family. Paramedics arrived on scene shortly afterwards and were able to save the officer's life despite the serious nature of his wounds.

And as Mr Tompkins assures him that he will stay by his side, Smith adds: 'I can barely breathe. He told WJCL TV that he has nightmares about that day, but that he still hopes to return to work sometime early next year.
