A third successive Premier League win for the Blues was marred by a significant minority of travelling fans at the King Power Stadium singing, "Alvaro, Alvaro".

Chelsea legend Didier Drogba has hailed the impressive start made by striker Alvaro Morata following his summer move from Real Madrid.

"The club and the players appreciate the fans passionate support away from home, of course, but the language in that song is not acceptable at all I've spoken to Alvaro about it", said Atkins.

Morata headed in Chelsea's first goal in a 2-1 victory at Leicester.

Chelsea ordered its fans to stop singing a song about striker Alvaro Morata containing an anti-Semitic lyric that was heard during Saturday's game at Leicester.

Jamaal Lascelles' victor takes Magpies into top half of the table
Lascelles was left unmarked as he connected for Newcastle's victor and made no mistake, giving Fabianski no chance. The Magpies will play at home against Stoke City on Saturday in their next Premier League game.

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte was asked about the song and its content at a post-match press conference but head of communications and public affairs Steve Atkins quickly stepped in. There is no grey area. That language used was anti-Semitic.

The chant references Chelsea supporters' loathing of Tottenham and features an offensive term to describe Jewish people that they use as a derogatory alternative name for the north London club.

"We have a zero tolerance policy towards it, and if there is evidence that season-ticket holders or members took part in that and take part in the future, then we will take the strongest possible action against them, which includes bans".

'We must be clear on this because it has to stop'. Morata disassociated himself from it and said supporters must "respect everyone". 'I love our fans and they push us a lot during the game but I think we must pay great attention in the future'.

Videos appeared on social media of some supporters singing anti-Semitic songs before their FA Cup semi-final against Tottenham in April.
