Paris Officially Says It's Phasing Out All Non-Electric Cars

Today, the Evening Standard reports that Parisian authorities announced plans to ban all combustion-engine cars, including those powered by gasoline, from the city's roads by the year 2030.
France, along with the United Kingdom, made headlines earlier this summer by announcing plans to phase out sales of gasoline- and diesel-engined cars by 2040, but it appears the city of Paris has an even earlier target in mind.
"Transport is one of the main greenhouse gas producers.so we are planning an exit from combustion engine vehicles, or fossil-energy vehicles, by 2030", Christophe Najdovski, an official responsible for transport policy at the mayor's office, said.
On the heels of France and the United Kingdom announcing plans to phase out sales of combustion-engined cars by 2040, the state of California is mulling a similar move much earlier than the 2040 target date, .
The move from Paris City Hall comes as little surprise.
