While critics have long called for the impeachment of Donald Trump over his outrageous behaviour as President of the United States, the prospect of ultra-conservative Vice President Mike Pence taking his place seems even worse.

But insiders say Trump's jabs are more about his desire to "let Pence know who's boss", than any belief in equality or inclusion. Throughout the cold open, Trump continues to check in with Pence, finding new reasons to tell Pence to bail on whatever situation he's gotten into.

When they started discussing LGBT rights, the New Yorker reported that Trump joked, "Don't ask that guy-he wants to hang them all!"

The White House didn't immediately respond to a request for comment on the report. The laughs! He also hosts bible study groups in the White House led by a pastor named Ralph Drollinger who is, yes, batshit insane and a misogynist. Several Trump Cabinet officials have reportedly attended the Bible-study group, including DeVos, Pompeo, and Attorney General Jeff Sessions. They urged Trump to pray. A billionaire himself, Trump made a point of saying he didn't need to accept donations from anyone else.

Pence has been closely affiliated with the Koch brothers since he was a Congress member from Indiana.

From then on in Arsenal maintained some semblance of control but it was always going to be a nervy lead to try and hold onto. "I nodded it down, the crowd gets up, "yeah we've got somebody who can win it", and they all just backed off".

It's something those aware of Pence's extremely conservative views have always been wary of, and it's been further explored in a New Yorker column by Jane Mayer.

"I'm concerned he'd be a President that the Kochs would own" Bannon said.

Pence also sidestepped Christie on the decision to hire former National Security Agency director Mike Flynn, who is now a main player in multiple investigations into Russia's interference in the 2016 election. Moreover, he's reportedly argued for public funding of this practice.

All things considered, Pence's attempts to limit LGBTQ+ civil liberties have been apparent for quite some time.

A bombshell New Yorker article published Monday suggests that the president has been making light of the VP's bigoted attitude towards the LGBT community ever since the 2016 presidential campaign.
