Meek Mill was sentenced to two to four years in prison Monday after violating his probation, according to CBS 3.

In a rare public statement, the Roc Nation boss posted a message on his official Facebook account criticizing the judge sentencing while stating that he will always stand by Meek Mill.

This saga began in 2008, when Meek Mill was charged with drug and gun possession and sentenced to 11-23 months in prison.

Other celebrities who shared their reactions to Mill's prison sentence include Kevin Hart and T.I.

Earlier in 2017, Meek Mill released his third album, Wins & Losses. Interestingly, both charges against him were dropped, but the judge says that by simply being arrested in the first place, he was violating his probation. He was immediately taken into custody.

Judge Genece E. Brinkley, who has overseen Meek Mill's case since he was known by his given name, Robert Rahmeek Williams, scolded the rapper in court on Monday for the violations, which stemmed from a 2008 conviction. He was then placed on probation for five years, a period that has been extended several times.

He also pleaded guilty to reckless driving after being arrested for doing stunts on a dirt bike on city streets in NY, and posting a video of his misadventure on the internet.

The original charges are almost a decade-old but the judge explained that despite her consistent efforts to help Meek, he has done whatever he wants.

The sentence came as a surprise after prosecutors recommended Mill not be imprisoned for the probation violations, noting he's been off drugs since January and has complied with most requirements of probation.
