"More Americans than ever before express concern about contacts between suspected Russian operatives and Trump's presidential campaign".

Eighty-six percent approve of the job he is doing; 66 percent approve of how he's handling the Russia investigation; only 42 percent say Russian interference is a crisis or major problem; and 75 percent think Trump didn't know about the contacts with pro-Russian operatives. The committee released the transcript of the seven-hour session late Monday. Papadopoulos and Page both served as members of candidate Donald Trump's foreign policy committee.

The case of Page, an energy consultant and graduate of the Naval Academy, has attracted scrutiny since he was named an adviser to the campaign in March 2016.

In a letter sent Tuesday, the lawmakers note that one of the Trump campaign's foreign policy advisers, George Papadopoulos, acknowledged to FBI investigators that he told several Trump campaign officers about his outreach to the Russian Federation government.

Page also acknowledged that in June 2016 he mentioned "in passing" to then-Senator Jeff Sessions, a Trump foreign policy adviser, that he might be taking a trip to Moscow - but that it wasn't connected to his unpaid role in the campaign. He maintained that his interaction with Dvorkovich consisted of a brief greeting, and that he had learned his views on the campaign while listening to Dvorkovich's public address.

Page has often been contradictory about whom he met on the trip, but his testimony Thursday was under oath. Their conversation, he told investigators, was not about coordination with Russian Federation on the campaign, but largely limited to an exchange of pleasantries.

Keeping all harmed in Sutherland Springs in our prayers and grateful for our fearless first responders on the scene . US President Donald Trump, on a visit to Japan, tweeted his concern, saying he was "monitoring the situation".

Page's Russian contacts have become one focus of congressional investigations into what the US intelligence community concluded was a campaign led by Putin to undermine USA democracy and help Trump win.

"Number one, there could be risks that the information is not comprehensive", said Page, under questioning from the panel's top Democrat, Adam Schiff of California.

Page had consistently maintained that his trip to Moscow was to give a speech at a university. After the reports, Sessions went on to recuse himself from investigations related to the 2016 campaign.

"They're focused on criminal investigations, we're focused on armchair quarterbacking - making sure every witness has been seen, every fact has been checked - and we're going through the policy aspects", Lankford said.

In keeping with the Halloween spirit, the poll also found that Americans say that Trump is scarier than ghosts, vampires, witches, mummies, zombies and werewolves - but not scarier than the devil.

Page said he reported back to other campaign officials about the July 2016 trip, saying in one email that he had received "incredible insights and outreach".
