Only Frank White has won more Gold Gloves in franchise history.

Alex Gordon, now a left fielder for the Kansas City Royals, has been one heck of a defensive player since arriving in the majors.

Barnhart, 26, became only the third catcher in Reds history to win Major League Baseball's top award for defensive excellence, joining Johnny Edwards (1963, 1964) and 10-time victor Johnny Bench (1968-1977). Reds catcher Tucker Barnhart and Marlins left fielder Marcell Ozuna also won for the first time. Cubs rightfielder Jason Heyward, who has struggled at the plate in recent years, picked up his fourth Gold Glove in a row in fifth overall. Despite leading the league in assists by a first baseman and finishing second in the AL in double plays turned at 1B, Santana appeared to fall victim to Hosmer's reputation with the glove. Cain, who led AL center fielders in starts (151), total chances (443) and putouts (430), lost to Minnesota's Byron Buxton. Additionally, Heyward is the first Cub to win a Rawlings Gold Glove Award at any position in consecutive seasons since pitcher Greg Maddux (2004-06) won three in a row and the first position player to do so since first baseman Mark Grace (1995 and 1996). Omar Vizquel and Ivan Rodriguez will also be inducted into the Rawlings Gold Glove Award Hall of Fame.
